We don’t like to serve exclusively to big rockstars and fancy-pants bands with labels, so we brought in Servant L from a long-lost Finnish black metal band, Served Dead, to share the playlist of his life with you. Served Dead was formed in 2008 in Hämeenlinna, and also featured the late Tonmi Lillman, whom you may remember from Lordi and Ajattara.

1. The first song you remember hearing as a child
“Päivänsäde ja menninkäinen” sung by my father

2. The first song you can recall ever really and truly loving
There really isn’t one it changes all the time. The song I truly love at the moment is Tundramatix – “Kun minä kerran kuolen”

3. A song that you loved as a teenager/reminds you of high school
Offspring – “Self Esteem”

4. The song or band that got you into metal music (or the current genre you play in)
Not sure but it has to something from Metallica or Megadeth

5. The most recent song to get stuck in your head
Nirvana – “Where Did You Sleep Last Night” (although I know its originally by Leadbelly but the cover is pretty damned cool and the cover by Lasten Hautausmaa is even better)

6. Your guilty pleasure song/band
Finnish underground rap as a whole

7. The first album you bought with your own money/the first album you were really excited to own
Sentenced – “Down”

8. A song that makes you want to curl up on the couch with a hot beverage
The original song is by Metsatöll and its called “Lahinguväljal näeme, raisk!” But as performed by the Estonian male choir, RAM.

9. A song to blast at full volume while you’re on the road
Stam1na – “Viisi laukausta päähän”

10. The song you’d most like to be played at your funeral
Moonsorrow – “Kaiku”
